JetKids by Stokke Review

We bought the JetKids by Stokke suitcase before our trip to Ocho Rios in February. I didn’t want to get Noah a full fledged carry on suitcase yet and he had a much smaller one already but, I needed something that would make traveling a bit easier.

There are other ride on suitcases for a lot less money available but I went with Stokke because I know it’s a quality brand and:

  1. The wheels on the other suitcases dont pivot (these do)
  2. The other ones are smaller
  3. The others don’t have the handle to hold onto. You hold onto the horns or ears and that’s not as comfortable or safe in my opinion.

The cool part about the JetKids suitcase is that it comes with soft mattress pads that snap together and turn the airport seat into a bed.

Noah taking a plane “nap”

I took it with us to Jamaica to try it out but I don’t think it’s as useful on short duration trips. We left pretty early in the morning so his nap time didn’t hit until after we landed. Even with the bedding packed inside the Jetkids we managed to fit all of his clothes for the week.

Inside:

  • 6 shirts and shorts
  • 2 pair of pajamas
  • 6 pair of underwear
  • 3 sets of swimwear
  • sun hat
  • swim goggles
  • crocs
  • water shoes
  • bed cushions

I used these packing cubes (specifically two of the longer, slim cases) and each still had some room inside. If we didn’t bring the bedding we could’ve fit another cube inside, or his nighttime pull-ups which I stuffed in Jeremiah’s carry on.

You can see in the picture above how it fit under the seat in front. There were zero issues getting it underneath. If you plan on using the bed feature just know that you can’t be in an aisle seat because it will impede exit.

Using it as a footrest

Also, a really cool feature is the additional space you get in the lid when you slide it open. You can find a video of that on this IG highlight.

So definitely recommend if you’re in the market for some new luggage for your little one. We bought the bundle that came with the expandable book bag and it is the perfect size. I used it for Noah’s snacks and toys and kept it light so he wouldn’t get tired wearing it.

Let me know if you have any specific questions!
